As Lower 48 production ramps up in coming years, key production areas of the Permian basin, Rockies and Midcontinent regions will be producing increasing amounts of condensate (50+ API). A critical theme here will be increasing the segregation capabilities of midstream logistics in coming years to prevent condensate from being blended into broader crude streams and degrading quality. As US Lower 48 barrels get lighter - The key questions will be: Where are these barrels being produced? What is needed to keep them separated from crude streams? Where will increasing volumes of US condensate find a home? How will US condensates price in the global condensate market?
