Oil prices under a 2-degree scenario
Report summary
What levels could oil prices trade at under a 2 ºC scenario? In this report we examine the potential pathways for oil and refining markets under Wood Mackenzie's Accelerated Energy Transition (AET-2) scenario. The scenario provides an interpretation of what it would take to limit the rise in global temperatures to no more than 2 ºC above pre-industrial levels. We highlight the results of our in-house models to project where oil supply and demand dynamics may settle in the AET-2 scenario, and oil prices could trend by 2050. This report follows the 12 April AET-2 Insight for Energy Transition Service clients where both gas and oil prices were presented.
