OPEC Geopolitics: a more uncertain world
Report summary
OPEC liquids capacity is forecast to increase by 4 million b/d between now and the late 2030s. Continued additions in the long term are critical for the market, as non-OPEC supply growth eases post-2025. But increasing global geopolitical tensions add significant uncertainty to the outlook. Iran and Venezuela are the key wildcards, but the outlook for countries like Libya, Nigeria and Iraq will also be heavily dependent on political stability.
