Report summary
Pipeline expansions out of Western Canada continue to make headlines, with multiple greenfield and brownfield options either underway or being considered. This includes Trans Mountain's DRA Project, which is expected to boost the overall system's pipeline capacity by 10% by the beginning of 2027 via the use of drag reducing agents (DRAs). Wood Mackenzie recently captured imagery of the DRA skid installations during early September to assess the progress following the start of the work earlier this summer. In this Insight report, we provide imagery of multiple of the DRA skid installations, takeaways from the imagery, and background information regarding the expansion.
