President Donald Trump last week put a spotlight on the issue of rising power prices. “I never want Americans to pay higher Electricity bills because of Data Centers,” he posted on his Truth Social platform. On Friday, his administration and the governors of 12 northern and eastern states responded to that call. The National Energy Dominance Council at the White House and a bipartisan group of governors announced a “Statement of Principles” for the PJM power market, the largest in the US. The same day, the board of PJM, which operates the grid for the region, published its own separate plan for connecting large loads.
