Italy zonal power market long-term outlook to 2040: New research coverage

We are pleased to present our first detailed outlook for Italy’s zonal power market. Building on the Q3 2020 market-level base case and in collaboration with several of our clients, this report and dataset represents the latest enhancement to our Europe Power Service. Our initial outlook includes hourly price, demand and supply data for the market’s six core pricing zones. Content includes an analysis of historic zonal prices and energy balance together with an examination of related model calibration work. The new report provides views on capture prices for leading technologies, average daily supply mix for selected years, and analysis of price cannibalisation. Commentary on key findings and observations is also included, along with a low gas price sensitivity. This new zonal definition will be integrated into the Europe Power Tool as part of our Q1 2021 update, but in the meantime annual summary and granular hourly datasets by zone are provided in the accompanying data files.
