Despite the polar vortex at the end of January, gas prices continued to slide in February, with Eastern power markets not showing much lift for the month overall. The highest priced markets for the month were mostly constrained to ISO-NE, with most other eastern markets trading much lower. However, cold weather in the West has been significantly above normal in some areas and combined with gas supply pipeline constraints has significantly boosted gas and power prices throughout the region.
