While the possibility of a no-deal Brexit remains low, our analysis suggests that the negative impact of a hard exit on the UK’s offshore wind industry will be less severe than in other sectors. However, potential import tariffs and other uncertainties associated with a hard Brexit are likely to cause a drop in the capacity awarded in the upcoming third round of CfD allocations. In this Insight we present our assessment of the potential impact of a hard Brexit on the UK offshore wind industry, including an overview of UK-based headline contractors in the supply chain, power market overview, international trading rules and other uncertainties associated with a no-deal outcome.
