Aramco takes a holistic view of the European supply chain
Report summary
It has been a busy start to 2022 for Aramco, who have announced two significant dealings with European players in January. The first, acquiring a 30% stake in the Gdansk refinery, including a 100% stake in the associated wholesale business in Poland. The second, agreeing a crude supply deal with Klesch’s Kalundborg refinery in Denmark. Both deals have clear crude supply implications. However, these deals are not solely focused on crude, but show Aramco’s holistic approach to the European downstream value chain. Using our proprietary tools, we dig deeper into the rationale for this transaction.
