Downstream oil in brief: NOCs continue to dominate CEE fuels retail
Report summary
National oil companies continue to retain their dominant position in the downstream markets of the CEE region. Road fuel sales in several markets in the region are still growing. These NOCs are trying to secure their positions on the retail side with acquisitions and secure domestic sales of their local refinery production. Leading international independent retailers, such as EG Group, haven't entered these markets yet due to the lack of competition in refining and the relatively underdeveloped non-fuel segment.
