Genscape weekly European market signposts - European naphtha supported by strong Asia demand pull
Report summary
This weekly update integrates Genscape’s proprietary monitoring of near-term data with Wood Mackenzie's Product Markets Short-Term analysis to provide insight to the fast-changing European oil products markets. European naphtha prices recovered from the lows of April to trade at premiums to both ICE Brent and gasoline barges, as gasoline blending demand increased and strong export demand returned. The Asia-Pacific market has been the main clearing mechanism for European naphtha in recent months, and the largest regional source of naphtha demand. Asian refinery runs lagged the recovery in petrochemicals, drawing European cargoes to fill the widening feedstock supply gap, which provided support to European prices.
