Prolonged Colonial pipeline outage could be a boon for European refiners
Report summary
The Colonial refined products pipeline remains offline following the cyberattack on May 7. After a short spike in prices on Monday May 10, the market has largely shrugged off the incident as Colonial indicated the goal of substantially restoring operational service by the end of the week. The support for further trans-Atlantic (TA) fixtures has also remained muted. To provide market leading insight into current refined product inventories in New York Harbor, Wood Mackenzie will issue a midweek New York Harbor Product Storage data set on Wednesday, May 12, at 11:00 am ET. The prolonged impact on both the US and European markets will depend on how quickly operations are restored.
