A US product export ban or product export limit has been proposed at multiple times in 2022 as prices of gasoline reach historical highs in large US demand centers. In this insight, we use our Refinery Supply Model (RSM) to model the changes to refined product trade under such a ban (in conjunction to the EU’s ban on Russian crude and refined product imports) and evaluate the challenges and consequences to the global refining landscape
