The Black Warrior Pennsylvanian CBM play in Alabama is the largest commercial CBM play in the Gulf Coast region, and the longest-producing CBM play in the US Lower 48. The play is characterised by shallow vertical drilling, where three operators (Energen, EP Energy, and Black Warrior Methane) account for over 65% of production.
