The Chainman is a Mississippian aged, organic rich shale that extends from the eastern central portion of Nevada and stretches into Utah. It is a source rock to other larger fields like Railroad and Pine Valley in Nevada. It is estimated that the Chainman could contain 1.6 billion barrels of oil and 1.8 trillion cubic feet of natural gas in-place.
