Report summary

Located in central Montana the Heath shale has sourced 130 million barrels of oil for the conventional Tyler sandstone. The Heath lies at a relatively shallow depths of 1 433 to 1 677 metres (4 700 to 5 500 feet). Its thickness ranges from 61 to 91 metres (200 300 feet). Exploration of the formation originally began in 2007 when Central Montana Resources acquired nearly 500 000 acres. The Heath is a conceptual exploration play.
