Mexico tight oil unconventional play

Report summary

One of the most anticipated events in Mexican energy has been the country's landmark energy sector reform and its ongoing implementation. Companies can participate in production/profit sharing contracts (PSCs) and licenses in the upstream sector and book reserves. Attention has extended to the country's unconventional basins as well. Our analysis shows that the tight oil potential of the Pimienta formation has a better commercialization outlook than does Mexican shale gas.
