Asset Report
Sichuan Basin tight gas unconventional play
Report summary
Gas demand in China continues to grow, and while domestic gas production has increased, conventional sources will not be able to keep pace with surging demand. Coupled with an emphasis on diversifying the country's energy mix, there is now a strong focus on the development of unconventional resources, including tight gas and CBM. The Sichuan Basin in central-southwest China is the country's largest gas producing basin, with a long history of petroleum activity.
