2019 Kenya and Uganda research trip key takeaways
Report summary
In July 2019, Wood Mackenzie travelled to Nairobi, Entebbe and Kampala in Kenya and Uganda for research. We met with E&P companies, the service sector, financiers, the NOCs and the regulators to discuss key themes and the South Lokichar and Lake Albert projects. An FID on both projects, totalling some US$13 billion in investment, remains elusive. Appetite also remains limited for exploration in both countries. Only Eni - recently partnering with Qatar Petroleum - is considering drilling, targeting a high-risk deepwater prospect. To find out more, and see the key takeaways from our trip, please access the attached slide pack, in the Report Downloads section.
