Changing times give rise to cautious optimism: 2018 Angola research trip takeaways
Report summary
Wood Mackenzie travelled to Luanda on research between 05 and 09 February 2018. We met with the key players in Angola’s oil and gas industry including Majors, independents, local E&P companies and the service sector; as well as the national oil company Sonangol. Angola's new president has wasted no time in pushing for reform of the upstream industry, since taking office in September 2017. The government has engaged with operators to draft new regulations on five key areas of the industry, in an effort to stimulate investment. With 2018 expected to be a year of change for Angola, our trip was well timed and provided lots of topics of conversation.
