Report summary

Aban and West Paydar are two onshore oil fields in western Iran which straddle the Iran-Iraq border. The two fields hold around 1.1 billion barrels of heavy oil initially in place, in the Asmari and Bangestan formations. Aban and West Paydar are shared with Iraq's Abu Ghraib and Fuqua oil fields respectively. Iran's share of the West Paydar field is estimated at 11% of the full field.
