Aban and West Paydar are two onshore heavy oil fields in western Iran which straddle the Iran-Iraq border. The two fields have around 1.1 billion barrels of oil initially in place, in the Asmari and Bangestan formations. Aban and West Paydar are shared with Iraq's Abu Ghraib and Fuqua oil fields respectively.
