The Block 7 (Abu al Tabool) contract area is located in central west Oman, bordering Saudi Arabia. Production comes primarily from the Sahmah field, which mostly produces from the Gharif sandstones. Production commenced in the 1980s at Sahmah and Ramlat, but the fields are mature and close to depletion in the primary reservoir horizons.
