The Ahnet tight gas fields are located in southern Algeria, near the In Salah development. The fields were primarily discovered in the 1950s by Compagnie de Recherches et d'Exploitation des Pétrole (CREPS) (65% French public companies, 35% Shell). Sonatrach now operates the fields with 100% equity.In 2001, Petronas, Gaz de France (now Engie) and Sonatrach signed a production sharing contract to develop several Ahnet Basin gas fields but relinquished their interests shortly ...
