Polytec Asset Holdings operates the Alibek South oil field in west Kazakhstan, via its 100%-owned Caspi Neft TME subsidiary. Alibek South is located in Aktobe region, close to the larger Kazakhoil Aktobe and CNPC AktobeMunaiGas assets.The field has been producing since 2003. However, oil output has been significantly lower than originally targeted because of chronic gas utilisation issues and gas flaring restrictions.
