On 19 November 2013, Afren announced a successful sidetrack of its Ogo-1 discovery well drilled earlier in the year in the Keta Basin, Nigeria. The prospect has a P50 recoverable reserves estimate of over 770 mmboe, potentially making it one of the largest shallow water discoveries in West Africa in the last decade.
