The Alpenvorland or 'pre Alps' is part of the Molasse Basin spread along the northern front of the alpine range and covering areas of France Switzerland and Germany.The region is a minor producing province and was at its peak in the early 1970's. Most of the region's 200 fields have since been decommissioned and only five are currently producing: Aitingen Aitingen Nordost Hebertshausen and Schwabmunchen oil fields and the Inzenham West gas/condensate field.
