Report summary
The Avalon field is located 150 kilometres northeast of Aberdeen in the Central North Sea. Discovered in 2014, Avalon is a stratigraphically trapped oil accumulation containing medium-heavy 22° API oil. Avalon will be developed with two horizontal wells tied-back to a floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel. The Excalibur FPSO, previously used at the Chestnut field under the name Sevan Hummingbird, was purchased by Ping Petroleum in 2022. It was to be upgraded and used on Avalon. The ...
