Report summaryThe Badra field, located in the Wasit province of Iraq, straddles the border with Iran where it is known as the Azar field. It was discovered on the Iraqi side in 1979, but development didn't start until Gazprom Neft and partners were awarded a technical services contract in 2010. The development has faced a number of challenges, but was brought onstream in May 2014. It ramped-up to its initial production target of 15,000 b/d by the end of 2014 and it has reached 35,000 b/d at times during H1 2015 .
