Baleine is a deepwater oil and gas field and the largest discovery ever made in Cote d'Ivoire. Following the first appraisal well, the estimated in-place volumes were increased by 27% to 2.5 billion barrels of oil and 3.3 tcf of gas.The discovery proved a new play concept, with Cretaceous reservoirs in the Cenomanian/Albian.
