The Barzan gas project involves the phased development of a sector of the super-giant North Field to meet Qatar's rising domestic gas demand. In February 2007, Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil agreed the initial development phase, and signed a Heads of Agreement (HoA) for future phases.
