Bina Bawi is a large undeveloped gas field located in the eastern part of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI), approximately 50 kilometres east of the capital Erbil. Currently, Bina Bawi remains without an operator. The field was discovered by OMV in 2007. Genel Energy assumed full operatorship in 2015 after acquiring OMV's stake. However, in December 2021, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) terminated Genel's production sharing contracts (PSCs) for Bina Bawi and Miran, citing a lack of development progress.
