The Blane oil field straddles the UK/Norway median line and was developed as a subsea tie-back to the Ula platform, which lies 34 kilometres away, in the Norwegian sector. Two producing wells and one water injection well are being utilised with a shared subsea manifold. From Ula, oil is exported to the Ekofisk platform, then onward to Teesside via the Norpipe system.
