A new government policy allowing retroactive reductions in local content levels for existing projects is very positive for Brazil's oil and gas industry. These sensible reforms are laying the groundwork for faster FPSO deployment and paving the way for the pre-salt to potentially add millions of barrels of production per day by the mid 2020s. This will help unlock a total of 21 billion barrels of additional reserves. A faster ramp up is not only good for operators, but will also benefit Brazil through greatly increased royalty collection and more jobs in the shipping sector. Please see the slide-pack in the Downloads section for full details.
