Asset Report
Chengbei
Report summary
Chengbei is a small, heavy oil field located in the Bohai Gulf, about 75 kilometres southeast of Tanggu. The field was put on extended production test in 1977, but production was suspended in 1981 due to technical problems. Chengbei resumed production in November 1985, after a Japanese consortium signed a PSC with CNOOC to provide technical and financial support. The PSC expired in September 2000 and CNOOC holds a 100% interest.
