Report summary
The Chuandongbei project, located in northeast Sichuan Basin, is a group of gas fields, with a high content of hydrogen sulphide (H2S) and carbon dioxide (CO2). Chevron and PetroChina planned to develop the project in phases, with Luojiazhai and Guiziping fields in phase 1, Tieshanpo in phase 2, and Dukouhe and Qilibei in phase 3. Phase 1 commenced production in 2016, but Chevron decided not to participate in the later phases and surrendered those three fields in April 2019.
