Deal Insight
Det Norske acquires Svenska Petroleum's Norwegian assets for US$75 million
This report is currently unavailable
Report summary
We believe that the deal only attributed value to the Garantiana and Krafla fields. The significant discount to our valuation reflects the lack of demand for cost intensive pre-FID assets in this low price environment, and suggests that Svenska Petroleum was strongly motivated to sell quickly. Svenska has a portfolio in West Africa which includes producing assets and both near and longer-term exploration and development opportunities.
