The onshore Dunga oil field is located in southwest Kazakhstan. In late 2023, NC KazMunaiGas closed the US$359 million deal with TotalEnergies to acquire its 60% operated stake in the Dunga oil field. The latest investment project, Dunga Phase III, is currently ongoing to boost oil output. This follows signature in 2019 of a 15-year PSC extension to 2039.In 2023, Dunga produced less than 15,000 b/d. Phase III took FID in 2019 and achieved first oil in late 2020.
