El Dorado is a modest-sized gas field, located on the western edge of the Chaco Plains. Although discovered by Pan American Energy in 1999, the field was not developed until 2009 due to the absence of a gas market. The El Dorado field is being developed in conjunction with YPFB Chaco's Percheles field (see separate YPFB Chaco Operated Areas analysis). A 35 mmcfd capacity gas processing plant at Percheles came onstream in early-2009.
