The El Faras and Zarif fields are located within the old Ras Qattara exploration licence area in the Western Desert between the Meleiha and Badr El Din development areas.Eni made three oil discoveries in the 1990s: El Faras, Zarif, and Mohr. The smaller Mohr field, an extension of El Faras, was brought onstream in 2007.
