The El Tordillo Area comprises three separate licenses in the northeastern San Jorge basin operated by Tecpetrol: El Tordillo, Puesto Quiroga, and La Tapera. Upon assuming operatorship of the area in 1991, Tecpetrol invested in new drilling and secondary recovery. As a result, production peaked at 27,000 bbls in 2006.Since then, output has fallen, and development work has focused on mitigating the decline.
