Report summary

Eni's Bouri oil field was the first field to be developed offshore Libya. Discovered in 1977 by Agip, Bouri was appraised extensively and developed in the mid-1980s. The field was developed using two platforms, horizontal drilling and subsea tie-backs. Agip re-negotiated the contract terms in 1993 to make further development of the field commercially attractive.The operator implemented the Phase I optimisation programme in 2006 to maintain production at 60,000-70,000 b/d.
