Report summary
The Marco Polo TLP has been in operation since July 2004. It is located in Green Canyon block 608 in 1,320 metres (4,300 feet) of water. At the time of its installation in December 2003, it was the deepest tension leg platform (TLP) in the Gulf of Mexico. However, this record was surpassed when the Magnolia TLP was installed in 2004 (see separate analysis). The Marco Polo facility was funded by Deepwater Gateway LLC, a joint venture formed in 2002.
