Report summaryThe Gharraf oil field is located 220 kilometres south of Baghdad, in the Dhi Qar province of Iraq. It was discovered in the mid-1980s but was left undeveloped until the award of a technical service contract to a consortium led by PETRONAS in 2010. The field was brought onstream in August 2013 and had maintained its initial production target of 35,000 b/d for the stipulated 90-day period by year-end. This has allowed payment for cost recovery and remuneration fees to start.
