The Granite Point field is located offshore, 30 kilometres north of Nikiski in the Cook Inlet. The field was discovered in 1965 by Mobil and was brought onstream in 1967. Granite Point is primarily an oil field, but it also produces some associated gas. Hilcorp Energy acquired the field from Chevron in 2012 and has begun to revitalise the field and increase production through a development programme of workovers, recompletions and sidetracks.
