Lower 48 drilling budgets have been dialled back this year, but the investment in technology still feels strong. Be optimistic. In past URTeC shows, negative fears like frac hits stole all the oxygen from the room. Not this year. Shale players have acknowledged issues like child wells, low recovery factors, capitally-inefficient completions, and accelerated decline rates. Now it's time to solve them.
