Report summary
Block 4 (Iyad) is in the Marib-Shabwa basin, south-east of the prolific Marib-Jawf and Jannah fields. Iyad consists of three small oil fields and one gas field, although only the Iyad West oil field has been developed. Despite high initial investment, the development never achieved its production targets and production remained modest, reaching just 6,000 b/d in the early 1990s. The Block 4 licence expired in 2013. The operator at the time Korea National Oil Company (KNOC) abandoned the facilities and production from the block ceased in 2014...
