Junin 6 is located in Venezuela's Orinoco Heavy Oil Belt (also known as the Faja). The Faja is the world's largest heavy oil deposit with oil in place of 1,300 billion barrels. The empresa mixta PetroMiranda was formed to develope Junin 6 in 2010.
