Report summary
The Kan field represents one of the Mexico's largest shallow water discoveries since 2020, located in the prolific Miocene play of the Sureste Basin. Discovered in April 2023 by the Kan-1EXP well, the field has undergone a remarkable increase in recoverable resources from initial estimates of 75-100 mmboe to 150 mmboe following successful appraisal in 2025.
