Karakudukmunai (KKM), a fully-owned subsidiary of Sinopec, operates the Karakuduk oil field in southwest Kazakhstan.Karakuduk oil production peaked at more than 30,000 b/d in 2010. Output has since fallen sharply to less than 4,500 b/d. This is despite the use of hydraulic fracturing, sidetracks and water injection.Most oil is exported via the Uzen-Atyrau-Samara pipeline to Russian ports, with the remainder sold domestically.
